Texas Unemployment Eligibility
Unemployment insurance is a paid insurance program that helps unemployed workers get a part of their salary. This benefit is available to people who are unemployed through no fault of their own. Different states have various polices on how to get unemployment benefits. In the state of Texas, you can get Texas unemployment eligibility by applying online or calling the TWC Tele-center.
You can get Texas unemployment eligibility if you meet a set of qualifying requirements prescribed by the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act. First, you must have enough wages paid to you during the 12 month base period. You should have earned wages in at least two quarters of your base period, and your wages must be at least 37 times your weekly compensation. If you were granted eligibility based on a previous claim, you must have earned 6 times your weekly wages since that time.

As an applicant, you must establish that you have been unemployed through no fault of your own in order to receive unemployment insurance benefits. You must present evidence that you did your best to correct the problem in your job before you decided to quit. The common qualifying reasons include layoff because of lack of work hours allotted, reduced hours that are not a result of disciplinary action, or you were fired without evidence of work-related misconduct, neglect, or mismanagement. You can also be eligible for unemployment benefits if you have well documented records suggesting that you have medical problems. There are more acceptable reasons that you can write in to prove that you were unemployed without your being at fault.
As part of Texas unemployment eligibility, you must prove that you are actively pursuing full-time work. You must show that you are physically capable of getting another job, and that you are registered with job websites in Texas such as www.texasworkforce.org or with your nearest workforce center.
